Amanda comes by her love of horses honestly, one might say genetically, since she grew up around horses, a long-time family interest. A native of Michigan, she found her way to the mid-Atlantic area through her grandparents. Her family owned race horses, show horses, ponies---virtually anything equine---and she rode show horses and competed during her early years. Professionally, she spent 18 years with Alex. Brown & Co., one of the nation’s oldest investment banks, while maintaining her avid interest in the horse world. Amanda was the first person hired by the Maryland Stallion Station partners because of her business skills and experience and her extensive background in horse care and management. She serves as the office and operations manager for Maryland Stallion Station, and truly has her finger on the pulse of all aspects of the farm’s activities.
